The Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN) is seeking a motivated and multitask-oriented individual who is flexible and works well in a team environment to fill the full-time permanent position of Labourer. The Labourer will be responsible for providing assistance to Capital Projects Department in completing their assigned tasks. The Working under the direction of the Labourer Team Lead, the Labourer will perform a wide variety of labour related duties as assigned from time to time. This is a permanent full-time position working 10 hour days with a 10 on and 4 off rotation.
Duties:
- Perform seasonal maintenance of public grounds – snow shoveling, lawn Mowing and other related duties.
- Clean the inside and outside of vehicles
- Attend emergency service calls in the community
- Complete work orders as assigned
- Construct fences and or small structures
- Clean job sites as required and load debris onto truck for appropriate disposal
- Load and unload work materials on and of the truck
- Attend tool box meetings and complete FLHA at the beginning of each job
- Adhere to all safety protocols of FMFN
- Other duties as assigned

- Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Valid Class 5 License
- Previous experience working in a construction environment
- Able to read and write
- Able to follow safe work procedures
- CSTS, First Aid /CPR tickets are an asset
- Able to lift 30lbs or more
- Ability to speak, read and write Cree and/or Dene is an asset
- Experience in a First Nations community is a definite asset
Note: Depending on travel requirements, a valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract may be required.
